I was at a Christmas party last night, so I was led into a false sense of security by the first couple of goal alerts on my phone. “Hey! The Blues might actually hold on for the whole game!” I thought, blissfully unaware that they were in the process of doing the exact opposite thing.
The game was not good. But something awesome did happen - call-up Wade Megan, who was recalled to give Paul Stastny some time on the IR - scored his first NHL goal on his first NHL shot in his first NHL game.
It’s tough not to get happy about seeing stuff like that, even when it is during a game that the Blues absolutely lose control over. Fans might’ve gotten a lump of coal in their stockings last night, but Megan should have a very merry Christmas indeed.
