Game Highlights:
With Paul Stastny being placed on the IR, the Blues called up rookie Wade Megan. The Blues didn't have to face Ben Bishop, so they had that going for them. They also have David Perron, who has been great so far this season. He opened up the scoring for the Blues when he forced a turnover in front of the Tampa Bay goal. One nifty move from Perron later, 1-0 Blues.
Just 33 seconds later, the Blues scored again. Welcome to the NHL Wade. Megan scores his first NHL goal on his first NHL shot. Talk about efficient. Ryan Reaves got the initial shot on net. Megan was there to net the rebound and just like that it was 2-0.
The Lightning weren't gonna go away though. Their first goal came on the powerplay. Victor Hedman fired the puck toward the net and Brian Boyle was there for the tip in. 2-1 Blues.
Hey, at least the Blues still had the lead right? Until the end of the second that is. Tampa Bay scores on another deflection. Michael Bournival deflected a Jason Garrison shot, and tied the game at 2.
Moving ahead to the third period, it's just all down hill for the Blues at this point. Tampa Bay pulls ahead thanks to Alex Killorn. Off the post nothing but net. It should only count if he called "post" first.
Did I say down hill? I meant fell off a fucking cliff. Not only did the Lightning make it 4-2 on this goal from Drouin....Jake Allen appeared to have gotten hurt as well.
And just because we all wanted to be put out of our misery....5-2. You tried Brad. Mike is a little upset you didn't stop him though.
The Blues are off until the 28th. A break seems like it will do the team some good.
