Allen gets the nod for an important home start against the struggling Nashville Predators. PK Subban has been out of the lineup for a handful of games, and Smashville is trying to keep their heads above water as Chicago and Minnesota pad their comfy leads in the Central.
The Predators lost seven of their nine home games this month. At this rate, this team is going nowhere.

Predators month-by-month this season:
— Adam Vingan (@AdamVingan) December 30, 2016
October: 2-5-1 (29th in NHL)
November: 9-3-2 (4th)
December: 4-6-3 (T-27th)
Yikes. The Preds will be desperate for a crucial divisional win, and if the Blues want to cement their place as one of the top three clubs in the Central, they must win games like these. Personally, I’ll be keeping an eye on Shakey Jakey - Allen’s had a handful of questionable outings as of late, and he could definitely improve on that .905 save percentage (34th in the NHL). A stable win here could go a long way in boosting his confidence.
This is your GameThread, get in here and comment away. Go Blues, beat those pisscats. Say a few extra prayers to the hockey gods - we need some cold weather for the Winter Classic.
