Lynx Links

Hey y'all. Well here's the skinny on the games this last week. The Lindenwood University-Belleville women's ice hockey team wrapped up an extremely successful regular season with a pair of victories over Robert Morris University-Chicago. With these wins, the Lady Lynx appear to have wrapped up a bid to play in the ACHA Division I Women's National Championship, but we will not know that for sure until the final polls are released. Nationals will be held March 9-13 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The polls are supposed to be made public on Sunday night, but a couple of times this year the ACHA has been a little slow in releasing said polls. So hopefully we will know by the close of the weekend, but nothing is for sure. Right now, the Lady Lynx are on a six match winning streak and stand at No. 6 in the current polls. On the men's side, they wrapped up the home portion of their schedule with a two game sweep of Missouri State University and only have two games remaining, on the road this weekend at Midland University in Nebraska. With the wins this past weekend, the Lynx completed an undefeated home slate. In the two years of the program, the Lynx have not lost a single game on home ice, recorded an astounding 19-0 record in their only two season of existence. The Lynx are currently ranked No. 1 in the Central Region of ACHA Division II. The top two teams in each of the four regions earn automatic bids to the National Tournament and get to avoid playing in the Regional Tournament. With a comfortable lead on top of the polls it would appear that the Lynx will get one of those automatic bids, but nothing is set in stone.
