Minnesota Wild At St. Louis Blues Morning Open Thread: Fragile, And Without Explanation

Both the Blues and the Wild are underperforming as of late, the Wild more so. What could fix these teams' underlying issues?

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

A minute and twenty seconds, and the lead slipped away.

Quick: Blues or Wild(s)?

That would be the Wild, losing to the New York Rangers a few nights ago, losing 4-2 to the New York Rangers. The post-game quotes are equally difficult to discern as to what team they came from. For those of you tired of the Blues' locker room chatter of platitudes and "we just don't know what to do" lines, the Wild have you covered. They're worse:

"We’re a very fragile team. They get one, and we kind of go into a shell. That’s a team that has no confidence," said defenseman Ryan Suter. "So we have to figure it out and figure it out fast."

How about this?

"Guys are waiting around for someone else to do it," said forward Ryan Carter, who had one of the Wild’s goals against the Rangers. "We have to look in the mirror and say we’re going to be the guy to change the mentality. We have to find our confidence."

Wowzers. Tonight should be a blast.
