Yup that's right...the women did play an exhibition game on Saturday night against the University of Illinois and did earn a 5-1 win but as is athletic department policy we do not report on exhibitions so thus no gamer but Congrats Lady Lynx. They close out their regular season schedule with a pair of ACHA games against Robert Morris...I'm not sure if it's the Peoria or Chicago campus but either way the games are at 9:30 p.m. Friday and 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. Louis Ice Zone.
In men's action, the Lynx men's team swept a two game series with ease from Eastern Kentucky. While the scores on the ice were awful, I have to give credit to the Colonels. They came down, knowing they were most likely going to take a beating, but they handled the situation with class, respect and even good humor about it all. They were complete gentlemen to work with, and I sincerely wish them the best, both this season and in the future. They're well coached and will be someone to watch out for in the future. If you would like to read the game story it can be found here.
The men's team also will wrap up their home season this weekend, though at a different home rink. The two game series with the Division I team representing Missouri State University opens with an 8:40 p.m. Friday start and will conclude with face off at 8:00 p.m. Saturday night. Both games will be held at the FSI Shark Tank, which is located at 6297 Lemay Ferry Road in south St. Louis County, Missouri.
