2016 Czech Republic World Cup of Hockey Roster: Former Blue Vladimir Sobotka Is In

What, no Jagr?

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

Shockingly, Jaromir Jagr was left off of the initial Czech roster released today - or not so shockingly, because he's announced his retirement from international play. Still, fans are holding out hope that the Panthers superstar decides to join the squad for the World Cup of Hockey.

On the Blues front, no current players were named to the Czech team (obviously) but old friend Vladimir Sobotka was. Sobotka, you may recall, is considering a return to the NHL, and the Blues still own his rights. Maybe he'll be current former current Blue Vladimir Sobotka when the tournament starts in September.
