2016 Team Canada World Cup of Hockey Roster: Doug Armstrong Snubs Pietrangelo

The GM of the St. Louis Blues elected to not pick any of his own NHL players for Team Canada's preliminary roster.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

If you were one of the people expecting to see a couple members of the St. Louis Blues on Team Canada's early roster, well, sorry. Blues general manager Doug Armstrong selected a hell of a roster, but it doesn't include (as of yet) Alex Pietrangelo or Jay Bouwmeester. One of those two being left off is surprising.

Still, this roster is one to be contended with, and it's basically the one that won gold in Sochi - but with Tyler Seguin and Steven Stamkos attached. This very well may be the team to beat, depending on what Team USA's rosters look like when they're released shortly.

Again, keep in mind that there's still time for Pietrangleo to make the roster, as this is only the preliminary one.
