Blues At Sharks Morning Open Thread: Wrap It Up

New, comment

The Blues are finishing their West Coast road trip with their toughest opponent of the four games.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Blues return home on Friday night, but before they can beat the Canucks again, they have to deal with the San Jose Sharks tonight. So far the Blues are a disappointing 1-2 on the road trip; they easily should've beaten the Flames and Oilers, but despite a clicking offense, the defense sprung a leak. Saturday night against the Vancouver Canucks marked the return of Brian Elliott, and the return of the defense. The Blues won 3-0.

Elliott will be rewarded for his shutout with a start tonight. Both goaltenders will get starts down the stretch as Ken Hitchcock weighs his playoff options, but it looks like Elliott's ten games out didn't impact how well he was playing.

The Blues lost twice to the Sharks last month; will a win tonight be a possibility? If Elliott continues his tear, and if Fabbri, Stastny, and Brouwer keep clicking, it's a distinct one.
