T.J. Oshie might have to wait a while to see his old friends.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Unfortunately, old pal and former mayoral candidate T.J. Oshie is ill today and more than likely won't play tonight against the Blues (note: I'm writing and scheduling this well in advance of the game so this may've changed). That's disappointing, but the Blues will probably see him in the season finale at home.

They have more important things to worry about, like ending the season with a strong push for home ice and maybe another Central Division title. They've clinched a playoff spot, but they haven't clinched the division. Just a point for the Caps tonight and they snag another Presidents Trophy to cap off an outstanding regular season.

Playoff success, unlike regular season success, has been difficult for these two teams to find. Ending the season strong may translate into some momentum. This won't be a light affair.
