Bruins At Blues Morning Open Thread: Fabbri, Bouwmeester Still Out

The Bruins have been sliding in the East, while the Blues are surging in the West.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Bruins are smack dab in the middle of the NHL's standings. After a weak start to the season, they picked up the pace, but that pace's cooled off. David Krejci and Dennis Seidenberg are questionable for tonight, they're 1-6-0 in their last seven games, they've scored only 10 goals in that timespan, and despite being in third place in the Atlantic Division, they stand a very real risk of falling out of the playoff picture.

Tonight's kind of a big deal for the Bruins; for the Blues, it's a chance to rack up more points.

Of course, since the return of Alexander Steen, the law of averages has decided to take away Robby Fabbri for a game or two, and Jay Bouwmeester is also questionable for this evening. Carl Gunnarsson is also still out. But hey, Steve Ott may return soon.

This is your morning open thread. While you're waiting on a Lighting the Lamp and your preview, head over to our good friends at Stanley Cup of Chowder and say hi to Sarah & Co.
