Let's see, players that are injured for tonight... such a list. For the Blues we have Jake Allen, David Backes, and probably Robby Fabbri and Jay Bouwmeester, who are both game time decisions. For the Blackhawks there's Corey Crawford, Marian Hossa, Artem Anisimov, and Andrew Shaw (and of course Duncan Keith is out, but that's not due to injury). It's that time of the year again - walking wounded hockey. Said Ken Hitchcock of tonight's situation:
"We're still waiting approval on a couple of guys to see if we can get them in," Hitchcock said. "Some guys that we thought maybe were in yesterday might not be in today. We'll have 20, that's about all I can say right now, we'll have 20 for tonight."
So, his guess is as good as ours. Coach Q isn't exactly thrilled with his team's situation, but it is what it is.
"Looking around the league, it seems like a lot of teams right now that have had a number of guys miss some games here right at the end. We're fortunate that we see everybody (who's injured) available next week. That's the most important thing right now.
"In the meantime, putting lineups together, we've dealt with that enough and guys have played with different guys over time here. I think last game we did a lot of changing in-game and going into the game, and we didn't mind the results. Guys are pretty adaptive of playing with anybody."
This is your gameday thread. Comment like you really don't want to see anyone else get hurt.
Let's do this. Let's Go Blues.
