This is an actual quote from Ken Hitchcock:
"I want to sleep on what I am going to do. I will let you know on the gameday."
What's that quote regarding? Oh, just something as inconsequential as tonight's starting goaltender.
Why wouldn't Elliott start? Because of a bad first period Monday night in which defensemen fell on their asses in front of him and got outworked because they're slow (Bortuzzo). A night where the team only woke up when they realized that they were behind the 8 ball?
I'm sorry, but I don't think that goaltending was, and is, the issue. But whatever, let's manufacture drama where drama doesn't need to exist.
Tonight's game seven may be it for this round, or it may be it for the playoffs for the Blues. If they show up for the full game, my money is on the latter - Lehtonen had his good game. He's set. If the Blues think they can be unprepared, it'll be the former.
One thing's for sure - no ten minute practices for these guys.
This is your morning open thread. Check back later for some Road Music from CCR, your gameday thread, and hopefully an announcement that Elliott is in and Bortuzzo is sitting. While you're waiting, head over to Defending Big D and see how confident they are.
