John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

Goalie - Brian Elliott

Game Highlights: (The term highlights was used loosely. )

After what was an abysmal showing in game two, the Blues looked to bounce back in game 3. They even put Captain Umlaut in the lineup. (Maybe Hitch needed to hit his make a wish quota for the month? ) The Blues didn't do themselves any favors in last nights action as they had 11 giveaways in the game. (The Sharks had 16 in case you were wondering) On one of those giveaways, Tarasenko would lose the puck to Joe Thornton who would get it to Burns shooting the puck to the net. The end result was Elliott having to make a point blank save but he would keep it knotted at 0.

Sharks would force another turnover in the middle of the ice Tomas Hertl would take advantage and just rip one past Elliott for the 1-0 Sharks lead.

Moving ahead to the second, the Sharks would get another chance right in front of the net. Hertl again with a prime scoring opportunity, but Elliott would be there to shut the door and keep it a one goal game.

With the Blues, bad things usually happen in the second period, and last night wasn't any different.   Joonas Donskoi made sure that trend would continue as he would score to make it 2-0 Sharks. Like Elliott, you just have to throw your hands up at this point and go "what the fuck guys?'

.

It didn't get any better for the Blues or Elliott for that matter. Tomas Hertl would score his second goal of the night giving the Sharks a 3-0 lead and ending Elliott's night.

Silver lining for Jake Allen. He didn't even have to play the whole period. The Blues would pull him with roughly 4 minutes to go in the game. Silver lining number 2? They didn't give up an empty net goal. The Blues would fall to the Sharks by the score of 3-0 and give the Sharks a 2-1 lead in the series. The Blues have now been shut out in back to back games for the first time in team history. They try to finally score a goal Saturday as they play at 6:15 central on NBC.

And finally...just in case you wanted to hear Hitch's postgame.

Three Stars:

Third - Martin Jones, only had to stop 22 shots...

Second - Joe Thornton. Can't wait till he shaves and they find some homeless guy living in there.

First - Tomas Hertl, 2 goals and spells Thomas wrong.
