Stars At Blues Game Three Morning Open Thread: Home Ice

New, comments

The Blues have snagged home ice from the Dallas Stars thanks to a 1-1 road split. What will they do with it?

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Blues have a lot riding on tonight's game. Why? They've wrested home ice from the Dallas Stars with a dramatic overtime victory on Sunday afternoon. There's a lot to build on for them, and still room for improvement. Should they be capable of playing a "complete 60 minute" game by this point in the playoffs? Yeah, that'd be pretty nice. Can they hold off on any third period sloppiness tonight? Hopefully.

Tonight's game is an absurdly late 8:30 (9:30 Eastern!) start to accommodate the third game of the Lightning/Islanders series. Overtime would not be ideal, unless you have a thing for getting to bed by 1 AM on a worknight.

The Blues penalty kill and power play are helping them through a tough series. A little concentration and home ice energy will help them take control tonight and Thursday evening. Heading back to Dallas up three games to one is a good place to be.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for a Lighting the Lamp, your game preview, and your GDT. Head on over to our friends at Defending Big D and see what their predictions for the evening are.
