Some folks around these parts are avowed pre-seasons haters. Some of us are not. Some see it as pretend hockey, some see it as a chance to get a good look at prospects in a game situation. Some of us just view it as a welcome sign that the season’s around the corner, and any reason to get into Scottrade is a good reason, right?
The Blues’ pre-season begins with a split squad matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets on September 25th, just a little over three months away. The pre-season features three games at Scottrade plus one at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO. Mark your calendars, folks, and get ready for a road trip.
- Sept. 25 vs. Columbus Noon
- Sept. 25 at Columbus 6 p.m.
- Sept. 26 at Dallas 7:30 p.m.
- Sept. 30 vs. Dallas 7 p.m.
- Oct. 1 at Chicago 7:30 p.m.
- Oct. 3 at Washington 7 p.m.
- Oct. 5 vs. Washington (in Kansas City) 7 p.m.
- Oct. 8 vs. Chicago 7 p.m.
The featured Central Division matchups against rivals (and playoff victims!) like Chicago and Dallas are expected. The split squad game against CBJ seems to be trending toward an annual tradition. The two games against the Capitals are an interesting development - I’m banking on them being scheduled as a draw for the Kansas City market, although I’m pretty sure that their a-listers won’t be out there, but there’s always the possibility that they will be.
