As the Blues continue their mission to draft every available center in the 2016 draft, they had to make a deal with the devil. The Blues dealt next year's fifth round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for the 144th pick overall this year.

Conner Bleackley is the current captain of the Red Deer Rebels and a former first round pick (23rd overall, 2014 draft) of the Colorado Avalanche who never signed and elected to re-enter the draft this year. He's 6'1" and 192 pounds - he's a big, strong heavy center.

From Elite Prospects:

Bleackley is a nice blend of size, skill and speed. He's strong and balanced on his skates, uses his size to his advantage and has a very good shot with his quick release. He finds lanes and soft zones well and has quick hands in tight spaces.
