Troy Brouwer, Playoff Performer, has headed to join up with Brian Elliott in Calgary. I'm not sure if he'll be able to pull any game seven heroics with the Flames, but his father lives in Calgary and Brouwer was building a home there, so this signing may be more for personal reasons than anything else.
Brouwer's deal with the Flames is for four years, $18 million. He had 18 goals last season with the Blues, and eight playoff goals, including one in game seven in round one against the Chicago Blackhawks that kept the defending champs from defending any longer.
Brouwer's big and he's physical, two things that the Flames aren't known for. This could be some needed muscle for a team noted for young, speedy forwards.
