Traverse City, Michigan hosts the annual Traverse City tournament, a traditional chance to see some of the league’s top prospects in play. Coaches get a glimpse of the kids before training camp starts, NHL Network actually has games to air, and prospect folks, like our very own Brian, have a chance to evaluate their play in the four brief games that they play.
The Blues will be part of the Gordie Howe Division, joining the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, and Detroit Red Wings. The Ted Lindsay Division is comprised of the Carolina Hurricanes, Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, and New York Rangers.
Play begins this Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks, followed by a Saturday game against the Blue Jackets, and a Monday game against the Detroit Red Wings. The tournament’s championship game will be held Tuesday, September 20th.
