GameThread for St.Louis Blues at San Jose Sharks, Jan 14th, 2017

NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-St. Louis Blues at San Jose Sharks John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

It’s another late night, west-coast puck drop for the Blues as they continue their road trip through California. If you haven’t already, break out some Irish coffee and power through tonight’s game like a champ. St.Louis is fresh off a thorough throttling at the hands of the Kings. Jake Allen gets the night off, and Carter Hutton will take the reigns against the San Jose Sharks. Beyond the crease, Hitchcock is making another small adjustment to the roster as well:

The Blues, meanwhile, will be making one lineup change at forward on Saturday in San Jose. Dmitrij Jaskin will place Scottie Upshall, taking his spot at left wing on the fourth line. Jaskin has been a healthy scratch in the past three games and seven of the last 13.

"I think I had enough practice and enough workouts, I'm happy to get in a game again," Jaskin said. "I think against this team, we know them so well and we know how to play them. We need physical elements in our game and I hope I will bring it tonight."

Hitchcock said a large reason why Jaskin is in the lineup tonight was because of his size and the ability to move someone into Yakupov's spot if necessary.

"We brought Jaskin in for that reason, if we need more size and weight on that side of the ice, we'll use him in that role," Hitchcock said. "I think we've just got to read it and see how it looks. If it looks good, we'll stay with it, we won't hesitate on making a change on that left side." [STLToday]
