You may have noticed that the Blues haven’t been wearing their usual third jerseys this year. The successful design, often hailed as one of the best third jerseys in the league, was a reminder of Dave Checkett’s regime. Really, it’s one of the few that are left.
The Blues have worn them less and less over the years, and it’s been suspected that Tom Stillman and the Blues’ front office have wanted to put their own stamp on the alternative sweaters. The Winter Classic jerseys have given them the perfect chance.
The jerseys for the WC were huge sellers - the number of them at the game was incredible. They’re huge sellers for a reason: they’re beautiful. Just look at this:

The Blues’ jerseys have always been iconic (even the clown jerseys are iconic in their own awful way), but these? These harken back to the earliest days of the franchise. They’re clean. They’re gorgeous. They’re a tribute to the past that is well deserved.
They’re also going to be worn a few more times this season. The Blues will be wearing them six more times this season, including Saturday night against the Dallas Stars.
You can catch the Winter Classic jerseys on Jan. 7 vs. Dallas, Feb. 4 vs. Pittsburgh, March 11 vs. the Islanders, March 25 vs. Calgary, April 2 vs. Nashville and April 9 vs. Colorado.
What’s old is new again. And might make some more appearances in the future.
