Sometimes it's worrisome when a player doesn't practice with the team for a few days. Carl Gunnarsson's been away, but it's not because of injury. It's because Gunnarsson has a new member of the Blues family to take care of - a very small, tiny one who could fit into Jake Allen's glove.
That means that he's out for the game tonight, allowing seventh defenseman Nate Prosser to slide into the lineup next to Colton Parayko. Here's hoping he scores a goal so he fits in with the rest of the defense. It sucks to be the odd man out.
Tonight's game is a visit for Big Walt's son, Matthew Tkachuk. Li'l Walt scored the shootout winner in the Flames win over the Predators last night, and has three goals and three assists on the season - all while leading the team in penalty minutes. Dad should be proud.
