There's something to be said for the charms of an old barn. Brett Hull believed that the Arena was the best place that he played, cockroaches and all. The Joe Louis Arena was a landmark.
But, sadly, time marches on and the new replaces the old. In Detroit, the Little Caesar's Arena certainly blows JLA out of the water in terms of looks and amenities, but it may be a while before it gets the storied history that its predecessor had. The Red Wings are 11-12-5 on the year and look to be headed for another playoff miss. They're not at Dead Things level yet, nor will they probably ever be there, but it's disappointing to their fans to see their favorite team miss the playoffs.
I'm sure that the pity here is minimal.
This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you still hate the Wings.
Let's do this. Let's Go Blues.
