In a surprise move following last night’s 5-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets, the Blues have fired head coach Ken Hitchcock.
Hitchcock led the team to a 248-124-41 record and finishes his tenure with the Blues with 781 wins, leaving him one short of Al Arbour and in fourth place on the all-time NHL coaching wins list.
Mike Yeo, formerly the coach of the Minnesota Wild, will take over on Thursday night when the Blues play the Toronto Maple Leafs and retire Bob Plager’s number 5.
