Much has been said about the possibility for the bye week of games to throw teams off of their momentum. Less has been said about the possibility of injury for the players sent down to the AHL for those five days.
Leave it up to the Blues to start that discussion.
Ivan Barbashev left today’s game with an upper body injury after a hit sustained in a scrum:
Here is the Barbashev injury. Cheap shot from Stanton to Barbashev in the scrum. Hopefully it's not a bad concussion. Missed rest of game. pic.twitter.com/o7SZsxo1UV— Scottrade General (@The_STG) February 22, 2017
The hit looked to be on the neck/lower head area. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that him being removed from the game is precautionary and that he won’t be out for any more than this.
Barbashev has two goals and one assist in 12 games played this year with the Blues; he has 19 goals and 18 assists in 45 GP with the Chicago Wolves
