Jake Allen and Brian Elliott had some good times together as the Blues’ 1A and 1B goaltending duo, didn’t they? Man, good times.
Those good times came to an end at the 2016 draft, where Elliott was dealt to the Calgary Flames so he would have an opportunity to be a true starter. After a rough start, Elliott has turned his play around and is currently in the process of getting the Flames into their first playoff experience since 2015, where they lost in the second round.
The Blues are making a very good argument for punching their playoff card for the sixth year in a row. They’re 9-1-0 in their last ten, and there’s no reason they can’t beat the Flames tonight.
Except for Brian Elliott.
