Stanley Cup odds 2017: Blues are the long shots.

Let’s see if the Blues can’t beat the odds.

There’s something to be said for being the underdog - you surprise everyone by virtue of surviving.

The Bovada Stanley Cup odds are out, and the Blues are decidedly not the favorites. In fact, at 33/1, they have the worst odds out of the 16 teams participating. At 4/1, the Chicago Blackhawks (of course) have the best odds.

2017 NHL Playoff Odds

Team Odds
Team Odds
Chicago Blackhawks 4 to 1
Washington Capitals 9 to 2
Minnesota Wild 8 to 1
Pittsburgh Penguins 8 to 1
Columbus Blue Jackets 10 to 1
Anaheim Ducks 14/1
Montreal Canadiens 14/1
New York Rangers 14/1
San Jose Sharks 14/1
Edmonton Oilers 16/1
Calgary Flames 25/1
Boston Bruins 25/1
Nashville Predators 25/1
Toronto Maple Leafs 25/1
Ottawa Senators 28/1
St. Louis Blues 33/1 33/1

Why are the Blues ranked lower than every other playoff team? As one of the hottest teams down the stretch, one would think that momentum would give them a bit of a boost when it comes to the betting odds.

Then again, it’s the Stanley Cup playoffs, so all bets are off. If you want to turn some cash, though, bet on a Leafs/Blues final. It’s 133/1 odds, which is pretty appropriate considering that one of those two teams would have to be ending a 50 year old curse.
