Blues vs. Wild game three morning open thread: Break some eggs

The Blues have a chance to take a stranglehold on the series this afternoon.

Happy Easter, everyone. The Blues’ playoff schedule is giving fans a unique way of celebrating this year - with a home playoff game and an opportunity to go up 3-0 on the favored Wild. This morning you can treat your family to a different kind of brunch: a pre-game rally at 11:30 outside of Scottrade.

The game itself starts at 2:00, and despite the deficit, Wild coach Bruce Boudreau isn’t concerned:

He knows that playoff series aren’t lost in game three, they’re lost in game seven.

The Blues shouldn’t make any line tweaks for today, but something they should do is figure out how to win a faceoff. In game one, the Blues won 33 faceoffs to the Wilds’ 47. In game two, it got worse. The Blues won 26 faceoffs to the Wilds’ 44. Alexander Steen in particular struggled Friday night, losing all eight faceoff attempts.

Help us, Paul Stastny. You’re our only hope. Or not, considering the fact that the Blues are up 2-0 and have a chance to end this series at home on Tuesday night.

This is your morning open thread. Check back a little later on for your game day goodies and your GDT. Enjoy the holiday, and enjoy the game and the festivities.
