Afternoon hockey is nice. You have everything wrapped up with a bow by dinner time, without an awful cloud of suspense hanging over your head and a bad game potentially ruining a night’s sleep.
In Nashville (where sadly, I am not, because tickets to this thing were nuts), an afternoon game means pre and post game hockey tonkin’. Nashville’s a great place to catch hockey, and that atmosphere transfers into the Bridgestone Arena. The Blues are going to have to deal with one wild crowd this afternoon. This isn’t the State of Hockey. Nashville fans are a breed unto themselves, and I mean that in the best possible way.
Speaking of breeds unto themselves, Vladimir Tarasenko has three goals in his last three games, and Jake Allen has shaken off game one’s miscue. Pekka Rinne looked human Friday night, and so did P.K. Subban. The Blues actually dominated in the faceoff circle for once this postseason.
There’s no reason (except their penchant for finding ways of defeating themselves) that the Blues can’t take game three.
This is your gameday thread. Comment like you like it, you love it, and you want some more of it.
Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
