St. Louis Blues announced they are releasing four assistant coaches today:
- Ray “Teflon” Bennett who has been with the team since 2006.
- Steve Thomas who joined the team less than a year ago.
- Rick Wilson who had worked as an assistant for Yeo as part of the Wild’s organization before joining Yeo at Scottrade.
- Ty Conklin who was a former goalie with the Blues from 2009-2011. He joined the Blues as the team’s goalie development coach in 2013.
It looks like Armstrong is giving Mike Yeo a chance to start with a fresh group of assistants. At least we will see some fresh faces behind the bench next season.
UPDATE
As soon as I posted the article, hockey writers started chiming in on potential replacements
On STL coaching, its believed Craig Berube and Darryl Sydor are good bets to move up from AHL Chicago.

Possible candidates for Yeo's new staff: Bylsma, Therrien, Berube, Sydor. #stlblues

JR also mentions Yeo had worked with both Therrien and Bylsma in the past. All very interesting candidates. I would prefer to see Bylsma by virtue of his Stanley Cup experience with the Penguins. Share your thoughts below.
