As Blues fans, we have a few regular pastimes: find a defensive whipping boy du jour (hi, Carl Gunnarsson!), complain about the front office, wallow in misery before June. You can set your clocks by our quirks.
The front office complaints have been tempered this off-season thanks to a shockingly stellar draft in which Doug Armstrong fleeced Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford. He also undid one of his less than quality contract signings by shipping Jori Lehtera off to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Have there been any earth-shattering free agent signings? Nah. Has anyone been signed that’s terrible other than Chris Thorburn?
And don’t forget the pretty solid contract extension that Armstrong worked out with Colton Parayko.
The Hockey News has set-up a fan front office survey, presumably for a future article.
It may be fun to take a minute or two to let people outside of the bubble of Blues fans know how you feel about Doug Armstrong et al, historically or currently. At the very least, it’s something to keep you busy for five minutes this off-season.
