That was quick.

Welcome to the home stretch of the off-season. The Blues opened their 2017 training camp in Hazelwood today, and suffered their first casualty.

Let’s all have a moment of silence for Zach Sanford, who was checked into the boards by Dmitrij Jaskin:

Blues coach Mike Yeo said there would be an update on Sanford on Saturday, but that it was certainly a painful incident.

"I think we all saw him go into the boards there and he was pretty uncomfortable," Yeo said. "He was certainly in some discomfort."

The Blues haven’t released his status, but if Sanford misses a period of time, he’ll be the second Blue out with an injured shoulder. The Blues’ already are short center Patrik Berglund for a few months after a shoulder injury this off-season.
