Alexander Steen injury: hand injury lays key forward up for three weeks

Make it stop.

First Zach Sanford went down with a dislocated shoulder. Then Jay Bouwmeester injured his ankle.

Now, Alexander Steen will be re-evaluated in three weeks for a left hand injury sustained in last night’s pre-season loss to the Dallas Stars.

This obviously means that Steen will be out for the remainder of camp, and will more than likely not start the season. This leaves some room for the young forwards who are impressing at camp to hang around longer than they normally would. Samuel Blais had two goals last night, and Tage Thompson has continued his strong performance from the Traverse City tournament. Not to be outdone, Klim Kostin assisted on Blais’ first goal.

Unfortunately, the Blues will be short two key vets to start the season off. A silver lining is that we’ll probably have a little more time to see some of the kids in action.
