The Blues are smack dab in the middle of three preseason games in three nights. If they play like they did last night in a 4-0 win over the Washington Capitals, the Blues should be able to handle the Dallas Stars, no problem.
The team’s 2017 first round picks Robert Thomas and Klim Kostin both looked smooth last night. Thomas potted two goals and Kostin one. Goaltending prospect Ville Husso was also impressive, stopping all of the 27 shots that he faced.
Tonight’s line-up includes both of those young hopefuls, plus some of the regular guys who aren’t fighting for a spot on the team out of camp. The defense features Carl Gunnarsson and Colton Parayko, while in the forwards group youth rules again. The kids’ve been playing good hockey. Reward them. From the Blues’ site:
Forwards: Ivan Barbashev, Beau Bennett, Samuel Blais, Klim Kostin, MacKenzie MacEachern, Adam Musil, Magnus Paajarvi, Vladimir Sobotka, Oskar Sundqvist, Chris Thorburn, Robert Thomas, Tage Thompson
Defense: Robert Bortuzzo, Chris Butler, Carl Gunnarsson, Colton Parayko, Thomas Vannelli, Jake Walman
Goalies: Jake Allen, Ville Husso
Tonight’s game can be heard on 98.1 HD3, KMOX.com, or streaming from the Blues app on your phone. If you’re a cable subscriber, it is also available on FoxSports Go.
