The Blues took out the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 Saturday evening, and a big reason for that was Carter Hutton’s performance. Hutton is 6-3 on the season with a 1.68 GAA and a .946 save percentage. He’s done very, very well.
Here’s what coach Mike Yeo had to say about his goaltending decision tonight:
"I thought he played a great game last game. He's been playing really well for us, and I think it was just an opportunity to give a guy that's been doing a really good job a nice little opportunity to get back in the net and show what he can do."
Fair point. Jake Allen is undefeated against the Devils, but let’s just say that the Devils this year probably aren’t the Devils that Allen is used to despite winning 3-1 back on November 7th. This team is fast, and at 22-10-6, second in the log jam that is the Metropolitan Division.
Will tonight’s lines be enough to take it to the run and gun Devils? You be the judge. From the Post-Dispatch:

Scottie Upshall has been, for a lack of a better term, playing his ass off. I’m not sure that being on the top line is the appropriate reward.
