Apparently the Ottawa Senators decided to take something from the Blues after all after being outscored 7-1 in the season series.
The Blues placed Magnus Paajarvi on waivers yesterday to make room for Jaden Schwartz’s return. Today, the Senators claimed the forward. Paajarvi has been offensively ineffective this season, with just two goals and two assists in a surprising 44 games played. Despite occasionally seeing time in the top six as a matter of hole-plugging necessity, Paajarvi’s dominant place on the Blues was in the bottom six. He only saw an average of 11:09 TOI.
Paajarvi has been shuffled between the AHL and NHL by the Blues multiple times. He was the first of two Edmonton first-rounder reclamation projects (the second was former first overall pick Nail Yakupov).
In 189 games with the Blues, he only scored 19 goals. Hopefully he’ll find success in Ottawa.
The Blues won’t play them for a while anyway.
