Game Highlights:

As noted above there were a few lineup changes tonight against the Sharks. Jay Bouwmeester sat out again as did Brayden Schenn. Pat Maroon also got the night off, as he was a healthy scratch.

Picking up the action at the 15 minute mark of the first period. The Blues and Sharks took part in a little 4 on 4 action. Vladimir Tarasenko won a puck battle behind the net. Tarasenko found Alex Pietrangelo in front of the net. Pietrangelo wristed the puck past Sharks’ starter Aaron Dell for the 1-0 Blues lead.

Everyone had thought Ryan O’Reilly extended his point streak on the Blues first goal. Unfortunately, the NHL doesn’t like nice things, so they took the assist away from O’Reilly. Joke’s on them, he extended the point streak anyway. Five and a half minutes into the second period, the Blues were deep in the Sharks end again. Tarasenko won a puck battle behind the net...again. Tarasenko found Schwartz who slid it over to a wide open O’Reilly. O’Reilly wasn’t going to miss the wide open net from where he was standing. 2-0 Blues. O’Reilly officially extended the streak to 9 games.

Schwartz felt the need to get in on the goal scoring tonight. Tyler Bozak was happy to help him accomplish that...goal. Vince Dunn was able to keep the puck in the zone. The puck found it’s way to Schwartz. Schwartz got the puck over to Bozak. Bozak passed the puck right back and Schwartz deposited it to the back of the net. 3-0 good guys.

But wait, Bozak wanted to help out Alexander Steen on a goal too. Although a little luck probably didn’t hurt either. Somehow Bozak poked the puck through to Steen. Steen slid the puck past Dell to give the Blues the 4-0 lead and eventual win.

The Blues were 0-4 on the power play tonight. On the flip side the Sharks were 0-4 on their power play. The Sharks outshot the Blues 33-31, but not that it mattered. Chad Johnson played an outstanding game. The Blues play an afternoon game Sunday against the Wild.

STL Goals: Pietrangelo (2), O’Reilly (8), Schwartz (2), and Steen (5)

SJS Goals: LOL.

From the Twit.

I feel like I’ve seen this story somewhere before.

Post game from Yeo. Looks like Q isn’t taking his job...yet.

He’s not wrong.

Player of the Game:

Jake Allen for developing all of these new starting goaltenders for the Blues...OH MY GOD I’M KIDDING. Or am I?
