Vince Dunn was the victim of Jujhar Khaira’s stick, as the latter got a five-minute crosschecking major and a game misconduct for making contact with Dunn’s head and knocking him to the ice. Dunn also received a cross-checking penalty and was fined for his portion of the scuffle. From the NHL’s press release:
NEW YORK (Dec. 19, 2018) – St. Louis Blues defenseman Vince Dunn has been fined $1,942.20, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Edmonton Oilers forward Jujhar Khaira during NHL Game No. 524 in Edmonton on Tuesday, Dec. 18, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 9:00 of the third period. Dunn was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Khaira, on the other hand, has a hearing with the Department of Player Safety today for the contact he made to Dunn’s head.
