Blues send Zach Sanford to San Antonio Rampage

It looks like the return of Fabbri will be soon.

Zach Sanford’s four goals and five assists in 23 games can’t save him from ringing in the new year in Texas. The St. Louis Blues announced today that Sanford will be heading back to the San Antonio Rampage, presumably to clear roster space for a returning player. Sanford was recalled on December 17th after being sent down on the 15th, so the ping-ponging is old hat for him.

Who does this open up a spot for? If we’re going forward for forward, odds are it’s Robby Fabbri. There are two open roster spots, so hey, why not bring back Pietrangelo as well?

Fabbri was more than likely ready to go last night, but Craig Berube didn’t want to break up the mojo - to excellent effect, as the Blues took down the Sabres 4-1. Extra firepower will be helpful tomorrow night against the Penguins, so if Fabbri is back, that’s a plus. As long as the team manages to not go back to their old ways post-win, his will be a welcome return.
