Blues place Gunnarsson, Fabbri, and Pietrangelo on IR

We’ve already entered that part of the season.

This probably isn’t good. From the Blues’ press release:

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have placed defensemen Carl Gunnarsson (upper body – retroactive to Nov. 17) and Alex Pietrangelo (upper body) as well as forward Robby Fabbri (upper body) on injured reserve (IR). In addition, Armstrong announced the Blues have recalled defenseman Chris Butler and forwards Jordan Kyrou and Jordan Nolan from the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Chris Butler is a capable defenseman, but he’s no Carl Gunnarsson. Jordan Kyrou’s return is exciting stuff, but Jordan Nolan’s is... it is not.

But the Blues are one forward short of icing 12 of them, so this is where they are right now. Temper your expectations for Wednesday, if necessary.
