Game Highlights:
In a late morning early afternoon affair, the Blues took on the Penguins at Scottrade. After the 11 goal output from the Blues, it would be interesting to see which team showed up today. Neither team found the back of the net in the first period. The Blues were the first team to score in this one. Kyle Brodziak put the Blues up 1-0. Brodziak and Chris Thorburn had a two on one chance, and Thorburn almost managed to screw it up. Luckily, Brodziak was able to chip the puck past Penguin starter Matt Murray.
The Blues were able to keep it 1-0 for...21 seconds. Sidney Crosby scored his 400th NHL goal after he was able to sneak the puck past Jake Allen. Tie game.
At the very beginning of the third, it looked as if the Blues had taken the lead. Alex Pietrangelo fired the puck toward the net. The puck deflected off of Paul Stastny’s stick, off the crossbar and into the net. It was ruled a good goal. However comma the goal was called back after it was determined that Stastny touched the puck with a high stick. So, no goal.
Moments after the disallowed goal, the Penguins took the lead. Vince Dunn turned the puck over to Bryan Rust. Rust then goes in alone on Allen. Rust beat Allen and gave the Pens the 2-1 lead.
Another defensive turnover lead to another Penguins goal. Alex Pietrangelo lost the puck after Dominik Simon came in from behind and took it away. Simon found Riley Sheahan in front of the net. Sheahan puts on a little move and beat a sprawling Allen to give the Penguins a 3-1 lead.
Sidney Crosby netted an empty net goal to get to the final score of 4-1 Penguins.
Shots on goal were 34 for the Blues and just 23 for the Penguins. The Blues had their chances in this game for sure. They just could not solve Matt Murray. They also went 0 for 3 on the powerplay...again. The Blues are back on the road Tuesday taking on the Predators.

Oh, some asshole named Reaves was back in town today: (I’m kidding. I love you Ryan. Don’t murder me)

He’s almost human:
Reaves said that he almost got choked up during the video tribute: "Almost. It almost got to me, but I try not to be too emotional. Obviously I really appreciate that. The fans showed me some love, so I had a good time." #stlblues

Allen on the Crosby goal.
Allen on the Crosby goal: "That's why he's the best player in the world. I would never play that any differently. He's one helluva smart player." #stlblues

It’s true, minus the turnovers, the Blues never hit dumpster fire status today.
Pietrangelo: “If you look at the overall effort, it was there. Just a couple of mistakes we can’t make.” #stlblues pic.twitter.com/mr7JbZDmPx

Anyone that didn’t have to set an alarm to wake up for this one. Yeesh.
