His return should be soon.

Along with sending Tage Thompson down to the San Antonio Rampage, the Blues also assigned another young forward of note to their AHL affiliate: Zach Sanford. Sanford was activated from IR yesterday and promptly assigned to the Rampage for conditioning. Sanford has been out all season after dislocating his shoulder during this year’s training camp - 15 minutes into the first practice, to be exact. Sanford underwent surgery on September 19th to repair his shoulder, and has been skating with the team since early January. He’s been participating in practice since the start of this month; the Blues assigned him to San Antonio to get him some game time conditioning before recalling him to the NHL.

Sanford played 13 games with the Blues last season after being part of the Kevin Shattenkirk to Washington deal. He had two goals and three assists during that time, and four goals, four assists in 39 NHL games.
