Whelp, that Wild Card spot was nice while it lasted. Thanks, Calgary:
The Blues are now one point back of Colorado with the Kings’ 3-0 victory over the Flames last night. You may notice that the Kings have played two more games than the Blues. The Avalanche have one more game played, and they lost last night to Vegas. At least one of the teams who needed to get the job done did.
According to PlayoffStatus.com, the Blues now have the same odds as the Kings and better odds than the Avs to make the playoffs.
SportsClubStats has last night’s Vegas victory adding 2.9% to the Blues’ playoff odds, while the Flames’ loss subtracts 2.4% - so basically the Blues’ are still in the same place that they were at the start of the day yesterday. A win tonight will boost the Blues’ chances 10.9%, and a win by Vancouver over the Ducks adds a nice 3.9% bump. A loss, however, drops the Blues’ playoff odds by 14%.
Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with this time of the season?
