Sharks Vs. Blues Recap: Can I Get Two Claps and a Ric Flair..*ClapClap*

Game Highlights:

After the Blues took down the 10 game winning streak of the Blue Jackets, The Sharks came into St. Louis with an 8 game winning streak of their own. Despite the Sharks getting in at a late hour (Sharks played in Chicago Monday and FSMW was reporting they didn’t get to their hotel until almost 1:30 central time), they get on the scoreboard first. Evander Kane fired a shot on net. That shot bounced off of Jake Allen’s glove and into the net giving the Sharks a 1-0 lead seven or so minutes into the hockey game.

The Blues tied the game late in the first period thanks to an unlikely source. Oskar Sundqvist scored his first goal as a Blue tonight. Credit goes to Barbashev on the play as well as he was the screen in front of Sharks starter Aaron Dell.

Joel Edmundson’s questionable penalty party continued in this game as he would sit giving the Sharks their second power play of the night. The Sharks were able to convert on this one. Joel Pavelski redirected a Brent Burns point shot past Allen giving the Sharks the two to one lead.

But as the Blues have been doing as of late, they came back to tie the game. Vladimir Tarasenko netted his 30th goal of the season. This coming on the power play. Brayden Schenn was able to find Tarasenko all alone. Tarasenko fired it from the face off dot, and all the sudden it’s 2-2 and the Blues had life again.

The third period saw the Sharks finally hitting their wall of tiredness or whatever you want to call it, but the Blues didn’t sit back. They kept pushing. Aaron Dell had to make some key saves to keep the Sharks in it. However, come the overtime period the Blues finally were able to take care of the Sharks.

Vladimir Sobotka lost that face off. He fought back to gain the puck and it led to that goal. Had to give credit where it was due on that play. The Blues take the needed two points and win it in OT 3-2. Shots for the game were 32-24 in favor of the Blues. The Blues also went 1-1 on the power play. Which as of late the power play doesn’t make people scream decline. The Blues head out West to take on the Golden Knights in a potential first round matchup. (Surely I just jinxed this one).
