The 2018 NHL draft is June 22nd-June 23rd in Dallas, and just three short days later the Blues’ latest selections will be skating at the team’s prospect camp. The Blues announced the schedule for the camp today, along with a list of current prospects who will be attending.

Prospect camp begins on June 26th and runs until June 29th. All on-ice scrimmages and practices will be held at the Ice Zone at the St. Louis Outlet Mall, and are open to the public. There’re a lot of reasons to enjoy prospect camp - it’s worthwhile to check out the new kids and to try to get a read on who could be one of the training camp standouts in a few months. You never can tell who could compete for a roster spot. From the Blues’ press release, here’re a few other reasons to be jazzed:

Prospects attending camp include 2018 OHL Champion and Playoff MVP Robert Thomas (drafted 20th overall in 2017), 2018 OHL Most Outstanding Player Jordan Kyrou (draft 35th overall in 2016), and 2018 CHL and QMJHL Champion goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick (drafted 59th overall in 2016). Forward Erik Foley, who was acquired by the Blues via trade from the Winnipeg Jets on Feb. 26, 2017, and defenseman Mitch Reinke, who was signed by the Blues as a free agent from Michigan Tech on March 25, 2017 are also expected to attend.

Enjoy that, everyone. Try not to let the weight of your lofty expectations weigh on the kids already. I see you guys, trying to preemptively insert Fitzpatrick into a goaltending controversy. At least wait until training camp.
