So Paul Stastny was on Andy Strickland’s Hockey Sense broadcast, and this came out of it:
Paul Stastny recently said on "Hockey Sense" that he would "absolutely" consider a return to the #stlblues if they were to show interest in bringing him back. https://t.co/HVgYU9V3Qw

The hometown boy didn’t give a hometown discount to the Blues before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets at this year’s trade deadline. Stastny’s four year contract was worth $7 million against the salary cap each year. Unloading him at the deadline was both a metaphorical white flag on the Blues’ season (even if no one wanted to admit it) and also a way for Doug Armstrong to shed cap space to make resigning Robby Fabbri and Joel Edmundson easier - and to perhaps bring aboard talent during the off-season.
Some of the talent that could return if the Blues want him is Stastny. He underproduced for his salary ($28 million dollars for 175 points is a bit excessive), but at a more reasonable price could be a stopgap for the Blues annual center issues if they can’t get an upgrade to sign.
So what say you? Should Paul Stastny return?

Only if they have to and only at a decent salary/term.
