2018 NHL Draft: How to watch, what to watch for

Will the Blues make any moves?

Tonight, the NHL 2018 draft begins in Dallas, Texas. The Blues, unfortunately don’t pick until 29th overall, but there’s always room for some excitement to happen.

There’s also room for nothing to happen on the Blues’ end, so enter in with appropriate expectations. Not every draft gives way to Blues trades like the ones that went down last year. Instead of ditching Jori Lehtera (and some first rounders) for Brayden Schenn, sometimes you just get Brian Elliott to Calgary.

Tonight’s draft begins at 6:30 Central, and will be broadcast on NBCSN, as well as streamed on NBC Sports’ various apps and streaming platforms. The Blues select at 29, and our Prospect Department has the Blues selecting defenseman Mattias Samuelsson from the USNTDP.

Brian also has in-depth pre-draft analysis laid out here and will be working on providing the most up-to-date info possible on the latest Blues’ prospects today and tomorrow, so hang around!

An open thread is coming closer to broadcast time, and analysis of any trades will also pop up. Will the Blues deal for Tavares’ rights? Will the Bread Man come to the home of Bread Co.? Will absolutely nothing of note happen? Tune in.
