The Red Wings need to win in the worst way. Will the Blues let them?

The Detroit Red Wings are on the kind of losing streak that could end a season before it begins. They’ve lost their last seven games, and their young superstar Dylan Larkin is the current sacrificial lamb:

“I haven’t been good enough offensively or defensively,” he said. “You want to point fingers, point them right at me. I have to be way better for this team and carry the load up front and put the puck in the net.”

While that sounds like a young captain in training, there’re a lot more problems going on with Detroit, like allowing 29 goals during their losing streak. For the Red Wings’ coach Jeff Blashill to admit that “everybody else’s production drops off when they don’t play with Larkin” is a sign that maybe the problem isn’t with Larkin. Maybe, just maybe, other players need to pick up the slack.

That can happen their next game. Tonight, the Blues need to go out there and get back into the win column. The Red Wings are demoralized and tired. If the Senators can beat them, so can the Blues.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you still think the only edible thing at Little Caesars is the Crazy Bread.

Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
