Game Highlights:

First Period -

Just a minute and 15 seconds into the game Sammy Blais committed his first penalty of the night. Fortunately nothing came of it. The Blues also had a power play in the first. Bad news was that the Blues didn’t score. Good news was that they didn’t give up a short handed goal either. (Ok, I’m gonna go ahead and kill that joke...for now). Neither team scored in the first.

Shots MIN: 12 STL: 7

Second Period -

Sammy Blais redeemed himself a little in the second period. The Winger scored his fourth of the year on a pass from Ryan O’Reilly. Wild starter Devan Dubnyk was beaten high on the wrist shot. 1-0 Blues with 13:08 to go in the second period.

Less than two minutes had gone by when Mats Zuccarello netted an Eric Staal pass right in front of the net. The puck bounced off of Justin Faulk’s skate. Zuccarello swatted the puck past Binnington to tie the game at one.

Shots in the second period were 13-12 in favor of the Blues.

Third Period -

The Blues were able to pull ahead for good in the third. With less than 2 minutes gone in the period, the Blues connected on a beautiful effort. Both David Perron with the pass to find Alex Pietrangelo, and then Pietrangelo to finish it off. Pietrangelo scored his fifth “pay the man” goal of the year. Ryan Suter was also called out at second with the bad slide job.

One of, if not the best Wild chance came off of a one timer from Matt Dumbass, er Dumba. O’Reilly made an effort to stop Dumba on the one time shot. Dumba was able to get it off, but Binnington was right there to make the point blank save keeping it a one goal game.

That would be all she wrote for this one. The Blues take home the 2-1 win at Enterprise. Next up for the 7-3-3 Blues is Columbus on Friday night.

Final shot counts were 36-26 in favor of the Wild.

See, not all of us are bad...unless your woo’ing or singing Country Roads...(oh god, I’m sorry. I kid, I kid. I love you all.)

And finally, how they missed this live is unreal seeing how offside Sanford was. The fact that the Wild had to waste a challenge on this was kind of bullshit.
