Blues at Blackhawks GameDay Thread: The Blackhawks are short staffed

They don’t have the available cap space to call anyone up.

Hm. Go short staffed or call up a backup goaltender? That’s the problem that the Blackhawks had today, and lo and behold, they decided to go with the backup call-up.

They’re in a cap-induced pickle, and the Blues are primed to take advantage of it. Coach Craig Berube decided to take this opportunity to elevate Nathan Walker to the top line and to give Jake Allen another road start after his solid win against the Dallas Stars. Walker’s top line reward comes after Saturday night’s goal scoring performance with Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz.

Tonight’s game should be a good one as long as the Blues don’t underestimate the firepower that the Blackhawks still have. Patrick Kane is on a 15 game point streak, after all.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you don’t pity the Hawks one bit.

Let’s do this. Let’s Go Blues.
